Printciple Source was approached by the school to help them do a special COVID-19 Yearbook where each student would have 2 pages. On the left hand page, a story or report and on the right hand page, a piece of artwork as well an additional 24-pages of school year contents. This meant that there would be close to 1,000 pages which was way too big for 1 book. So we recommended it to be split into 4 books.
1) Early Stage 1 – 130 pages
2) Stage 1 – 252 pages
3) Stage 2 – 282 pages
4) Stage 3 – 272 pages
The school wanted to build the yearbooks themselves to keep the cost down. With no graphic design experience or software, we assisted in supplying the school with templates of the page layouts leaving space for them to drop in the child’s stories and artwork. We worked very closely with the school and were able to troubleshoot various hiccups along the way. The 4 books came out fantastic and the feedback from the school, students and family were overwhelming.
A lot of the stories are about COVID and the children trying to understand why they couldn’t go to school and how they had to keep safe.
